Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Energy Rebalance Session

SESSION OVERVIEW: 60 MINUTES
Clients will lie on a Thai futon mattress fully dressed and will be set up in a Restorative yoga posture with various props to support the body for deep relaxation. The session starts with 15 minutes of Pranayama (breath-work) and finishes with Reiki (energy work). The practitioner may also use crystal singing bowls, chimes, rattle and/or drum throughout the session to help clear stuck, stagnant energy in/around the body. At the end clients will be given optional practices to continue to support healing and balance within the energy body after the session.

What is Breath Work?

Breath, the one constant thing we all have. Without breath there is no life!
Pranayama refers to breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body to free the breath and so the flow of prana - life energy. Regular and sustained practice of Pranayama can supercharge your whole body!

Daily stressors, tensions and physical habits can create physical and energetic obstacles in our bodies. Without even noticing it our breathing can become gradually more shallow or stilted. We can develop unconscious breathing patterns restricting the flow of breath and prana.

When we work on freeing the breath through pranayama (breathing exercises) we are also working on letting the life energy flow through the body. The irony is that it really isn’t “work”, but rather an allowing or just being, Pranayama has the effect of energizing, relaxing and healing the body, letting everything fall into place. It literally increases and balances the life energy in your entire system and support the functions of all vital organs.

What is Energy Work?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a practice of universally guided life force energy. As living beings we all contain this life force. Various habits, predisposed conditions and everyday stress can deplete our ability to function at our highest capacity. Since we all contain this life force, Reiki is simply a practice that supports one's own healing abilities. This healing modality works with the subtle energy body, and has the ability to enhance and create transformative healing. As a practitioner it is simply my role to guide this energy to ignite your own unique healing powers. You are your greatest healer. 

Reiki is a noninvasive treatment that can be practiced with hands on the body or hovering above. The most common description people express explaining their experience during a session is deep relaxation.
