Discover a yoga practice of rest and relaxation. This three class series will allow you to pause, reflect and discover the stillness needed to collect nourishment and healing. The intention for this series is to share these practices so you can continue to use them in the comfort of your home. After each class students will be given resources to continue a short home practice. There are six spots available based on props.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative Yoga is a series of poses that use props to completely support the body, in stillness, without effort for total relaxation and release. The poses relieve the effect of chronic stress and create a space for the body to heal itself. In general, restorative yoga is for anyone feeling weak, fatigued, and/or stressed from daily activities. This practice is especially beneficial before, during or after any major life events and can be practiced when ill or recovering from illness or injury.
What is Yoga Nidra?
The definition of the sanskrit word Nidra is 'sleep,' so in simple terms it is the practice of yogic sleep. It is a guided, therapeutic relaxation practice performed lying in a comfortable position with eyes closed. Through this guided relaxation process it allows one to access the subconscious with the intent to create new patterns of healing and transformation. The benefits include deep rest and relaxation, stress release, better sleep, self inquiry, emotional healing, self-realization and trauma/PTSD release.
