THAI YOGA bodywork - rooted in Restorative Yoga

Thai Yoga Bodywork is an invitation to do nothing at all. It brings together the deep, supported rest of Restorative Yoga and all the benefits of assisted stretching. Your body is held in comfortable shapes with bolsters, blankets and props, so your muscles can fully let go. From there I offer supportive touch, guided breath-work and energy healing. It’s also known as “lazy man yoga”. The goal is to give your nervous system the safety and space it needs to move out of survival mode and into the parasympathetic state, where the body naturally repairs itself.

Sessions are offered in the comfort of your own home on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.
Current Schedule: Sundays 9:30 AM or 2:00 PM

WHO IT’S FOR:

This work is especially supportive if you are:

  • Feeling depleted, burnt out, anxious or overstimulated

  • Moving through grief, trauma or a big life transition

  • Struggling to rest or sleep deeply

  • Healing from injury or illness, or living with chronic pain or fatigue

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Sessions take place on a Thai futon mattress, and you stay fully clothed the entire time. Please wear soft, comfortable clothing and a T-shirt that covers your armpits. I’ll begin with a short check-in about how your body, breath and energy feel that day. I’ll then guide you into your first restorative shape. The final 10–15 minutes include energy work to deepen relaxation and seal in the work. You’ll leave with optional simple restorative practices you can do at home.

IN-HOME SESSIONS: Preparing Your Space

I bring the healing space to you, offering Restorative Bodywork in your home on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key. I’ll arrive with everything needed for your session, including my futon mattress, bolsters, blankets and props. All you need to provide is the space.

Space needed: My futon is queen-sized, and I need at least 2 feet of open floor around the entire border so I can move freely around your body. That’s an open area of about 9 feet by 11 feet, roughly the size of a cleared living room or a spacious bedroom. Before I arrive, please move coffee tables, chairs or other furniture out of the way so the floor is clear.

Temperature: This work is best received in a room between 70 and 80 degrees. Your body temperature naturally drops as your nervous system settles into deep rest, so a warm room helps you stay comfortable and fully relaxed. Please adjust your air conditioning or fans before your session, especially during the warmer months on the islands.

A peaceful setting: Choose a quiet room where you won’t be interrupted. If possible, silence your phone, settle pets in another room, and let others in your home know you’ll be resting. Soft, natural lighting is perfect.
